In his statement, Construction Engineer Aycan Fenercioğlu talked about the classification of contractors as follows, “ Now, contractors have been classified into nine groups from A to H according to the regulation issued on September 2. The relevant Ministry determined criteria for contractors. The most important of those are technical and material criteria. Those who wish to act as a contractor will apply to the Provincial Directorates of the Ministry of Environment and Urban Planning, complete their documents and be admitted to a commission. Following the evaluation made by the commission, classes of the contractors will be determined and they will be able to carry out a construction activity within the scope of this class. All contractors will not be able to make every construction as it is in the previous period. The importance of such new regulation is that both construction activities will develop and unjust treatments will be prevented.”
